Joseph Pari Profiled as a 2020 Law360 Tax MVP

Weil Tax Department Co-Chair Joseph Pari has been profiled in Law360 as a 2020 Tax MVP. He is one of just five attorneys industrywide recognized for outstanding achievements and contributions to the practice area over the last year.

The Q&A profile highlighted Mr. Pari’s role in leading Weil’s tax team on megadeals such as Willis Tower Watson’s proposed $80 billion combination with Aon and Maxim Integrated Products Inc.’s $21 billion sale to Analog Devices Inc. — two of the largest M&A transactions of 2020.

Mr. Pari told Law360 his proudest moment in 2020 has been successfully guiding Weil’s Tax Department through the pandemic and collaborating with other Weil attorneys to deliver high levels of client service during it. He praised the tax team for its response to the challenges the pandemic has imposed.

In addition, Mr. Pari noted to Law360 that he loves the challenges that tax law presents, saying “it’s like a complex puzzle.” He also said he enjoys finding risk-appropriate ways to solve a client’s tax issues and structuring tax-efficient transactions to meet its needs, and regularly experiences moments that remind him why he loves the job.

“I feel very lucky to have found a job where every morning I wake up, and I’m excited to do what I do,” Mr. Pari said. “And it is challenging and rewarding and fun.”
