Weil Tax partner Kimberly S. Blanchard spoke on the “Use of Partnerships in International Tax Planning” as a part of The NYU School of Professional Studies Tax Conferences. The session focused on the application of the Tax Code’s international tax rules where activities are conducted, or assets are held, through partnerships, with a particular focus on the changes made by the 2017 tax reform legislation. The discussion also addressed the definition of CFC and the application of the new GILTI, FDII and BEAT rules, and the tax and withholding rules applicable to dispositions of interests in partnerships that conduct a trade or business in the United States.
