Potential for a UK / Brazil Double Tax Treaty?

On 7 September HMRC announced that, after exploratory talks, the United Kingdom and Brazil will launch a first round of negotiations for a double tax treaty between 12 and 16 September 2022 (currently there are very limited agreements relating to shipping and air transport). This has been a consistent ask of businesses in both the UK and Brazil. If a treaty is enacted, amongst other points, it may facilitate investment into Brazil through UK holding companies.
